Chefs today have to be progressive thinkers, multi-faceted entertainers and dynamic entrepreneurs.
‘Think outside the box’ is a phrase close to my heart as it’s the key to develop the next generation of chefs (millennials). As a firm believer that ‘technology enhances skill’, the adoption of technology in the kitchen has and continues to revolutionise the F&B industry as chefs around the world strive for culinary excellence.

Technology helps chefs to conceive precise cooking methodology and ensure the consistent delivery of a great product. State-of-the-art kitchen facilities and current knowledge are essential for us to keep abreast of the evolving ‘culinary revolution’.

In our quest to create memorable culinary experiences, new talent development and training to equip young chefs with the right skills and product knowledge is vital. Coupled with a chef’s willingness to explore, experiment and experience, new techniques and methods will drive the industry forward whilst retaining flavours, texture and tastes to satisfy the five senses.

From invaluable experiences gleaned from daily tasks to culinary competitions and forums, nothing should be overlooked for chefs to evolve and take the industry to new heights. Take advantage of every opportunity to grow and develop skills, to integrate their inspirations and observations better as well as to enhance their creations.

As chefs, we can no longer be mere culinary trendsetters. We have to be progressive thinkers, multi-faceted entertainers and dynamic entrepreneurs. Be bold and get out of the comfort zone. Embrace technology to work smarter, faster and more effectively, and never shy away from acquiring new skills or knowledge.
